Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms explain the rules for using Y2mate in short, plain English. By using the site, you agree to them.
What the service does
Y2mate is a free tool that runs in your browser. It looks up a YouTube video from a link you provide and shows you the download links YouTube offers for it, together with the video’s title, thumbnail and length. The files themselves are delivered by YouTube’s servers, not by us.
Using Y2mate responsibly
You agree to use Y2mate only in ways that are lawful where you live. In particular, you agree:
- to download only content you own, content that is licensed for reuse (for example under a Creative Commons licence), or content you have permission from the rights holder to save;
- to keep downloads for your own personal, non-commercial use unless the rights holder allows otherwise;
- not to use Y2mate to infringe copyright, to redistribute other people’s work, or to break the terms of any other service;
- not to attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or to access it through automated means in a way that harms other users.
You are responsible for how you use the files you download. If you are unsure whether you may save a video, please don’t.
Copyright and removal requests
We respect the rights of creators. Y2mate does not host videos, but if you are a rights holder and believe the service is being used to infringe your work, contact us with the video link and details of your claim and we will review it promptly.
No account, no fees
You do not need an account to use Y2mate, and we do not charge for it. We may change, limit or stop any part of the service at any time, for example if a video source stops working.
No guarantees
Y2mate is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it fast and working, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, that any given video can be found, or that every file will download. Videos and download links come from YouTube and may change, expire or be withdrawn at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Y2mate and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, or for any content you choose to download. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Links to other sites
Download links and thumbnails point to YouTube and Google servers, which have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices. Y2mate is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Y2mate after a change means you accept the updated terms.
